Obama Wins, Huckabee Battles in Louisiana Primary Results

Arizona Senator John McCain and Illinois Senator Barack Obama are aiming for a win to add to their victories in the Louisiana primary on Saturday. In the Republican race, McCain pushed to beat former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, who won the Kansas caucuses earlier in the day. In the Democratic primary, Obama took another state away from New York Senator Hillary Clinton.

Teacher Sues Gay Mom Over Classroom Discipline Charge

A lesbian mother who alleges her son was reprimanded and forced to repeatedly write “I will never use the word ‘gay’ in school again” is being sued by the boy's teacher. Ernest Gallet Elementary School teacher Terry L. Bethea is seeking $50,000 damages for defamation.

Focus Turns To Louisiana After Missouri Votes To Ban Gay Marriage

Following Tuesday's passage in Missouri of an amendment to the state constitution to ban same-sex marriage the focus has shifted to Louisiana which will vote on a similar amendment Sept 18. Louisiana and 37 other states already have laws that define marriage as solely between a man and a woman but supporters of the Louisiana amendment say the state's DOMA could be overturned by judges.
